Prof Breathnach is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist at RCSI Rotunda Hospital. Her special interests are thyroid dysfunction in pregnancy and diabetes in pregnancy. Prof Breathnach is also an ultrasound specialist with a focus on prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease and multiple pregnancy.
